PROJECTS:

Outline permission for 280 residential units was granted for this site in 2017.

Part of the site boundary is formed by the Stewton Beck which, in common with many small channels serving urbanised and naturally impermeable catchments, is prone to flooding. A limited area of the site was shown as being at risk of floodwater from the Beck and a minor reworking of ground levels was identified in order to protect the proposed dwellings without displacing floodwater. The key focus of our work however was to develop a surface water management scheme which met the needs of the layout and the Lincolnshire County Council SuDS specification document. The resulting scheme relied on a series of roadside features (either grassed filter drains or swales depending on their orientation to the site contours) and a strategic attenuation basin.

Cannon attended the public consultation event and a planning and drainage group meeting to answer any questions about the initial surface water management scheme for the site.
