FLOOD RISK, HIGHWAYS
AND UTILITY ADVICE
Ditchingham Maltings, Norfolk

PROJECTS:
We first started work on this site for Gladedale Estates in 2007 where we were appointed to provide highways & transportation, flooding & drainage, and utilities advice.
The key constraint related to that of flood risk yet the published risk mapping did not appear realistic and hence a bespoke hydraulic model was constructed.
The modelling outputs revealed a larger part of the site was appropriate for residential development.
PJ Livesey took the site over in 2011 and moved to a planning application in 2012. The application was to save the historic Silk Mill building by converting this to apartments and houses, whilst providing new build dwellings on the remainder of site. Permission was granted later that year from where we then helped discharge the highways, flooding and drainage planning conditions. The site is now being marketed by PJ Livesey.
